I have no connection the the author, I'm just someone who misses the old keybaord. However, ultra keybaord is entremely good. It has cursor keys and it even has a swype like functionality.

I am extremely impressed.

I know it sounds like an advert, you have my word it's not. Just a happy paying customer.

It's definitely not bad, but I can't recommend it over Swype until the Ultra Keyboard Tracing (swiping) function is available in all needed text fields - for example, you cannot trace an email address and you cannot trace two words together to make a longer word because it inserts a space.

If you're not bothered about swiping then this is definitely a fine keyboard.

While we are discussing keyboards, SlideIt is excellent! I got it from the Android market, and it is very accurate!Slightly larger keys and a swype-like function that IMHO beats Swype hands down......and no, I am not connected to them....LOL
Later..... :P

In my opinion, ultra keyboard comes out on top here. Simply because you can use a partial edit box in landscape.

Cant you remove the 1.6 keyboard .apk and apply to the 2.1 ROM?

I have absolutley no experiance of doing this but when I had problems with launchers in 2.1 [it kept asking me to select which launcher to use even tho i set ADW as default every time] i just removed the stock launcher 'launcher2.apk' with root explorer.

Do you think something along the same linew will work? #justsaying

I have ORD

HTC Desire Z [UK Vodafone]
ROM Cyanogen [latest ALWAYS]
Koush ClockworkMod

DELL Streak [UK o2] Rooted via Universal Androot
ROM DJ_Steve's Froyo [LATEST]
Recovery Koush ClockworkMod

HTC Wildfire [UK Vodafone] miss my old HTC Magic :(

Nope, there's a missing class that won't let it load. :P

Can't figure out what is missing from the class until the source is released (here's hoping they release the 1.6 source as well as the 2.2).
