Ok so I've had chance to look into how our German friends over at Android-Hilfe.de have managed to get the Live wallpapers working. Its a very simple script that runs from the old "root" hack.

Anyway Ive chopped and changed a few things to suit my own needs however I thought it would be useful to you guys aswell so here is my take on this "Mod"......




Ive kept the browser the German version had because it seems better

Navigation, Multi-touch and Buzz version of Google maps

Video recorder hack set at the values below

Gallery 2.1 with multi-touch

Better Music player and 3 finger multitouch enabled

Ringtone taken out for space but please feel free to put your own back in the correct folder

Build.prop is from the UK version of 2.01 however the apps are from the Hong Kong 2.01 rom

Again its worth noting that THIS IS NOT MY WORK I just had a play with it

enjoy oh and dont forget ..... use at your own risk (although I cannot think how this could brick your phone because it only replaces file not bootloader ect)

IMPORTANT
DO A FULL WIPE, THEN APPLY THIS UPDATE.ZIP. ONCE YOU HAVE REBOOTED AND SET UP YOUR PHONE YOU CAN RE-ROOT USING THE NORMAL METHOD.
YOU MUST ALREADY BE RUNNING 2.01 NOT 2.0 FOR THIS TO WORK!

ive been experiencing random reboots and lock ups, sometimes from something small like a phone call, or setting a live wallpaper.

ive also found the launcher 2.1 is not very good in landscape and neither are the dots to switch screen or if you have a icon bottom right you cant click it.

theres no email client, but fixed this with pure messenger & k9 mail which i installed this morning,,,, but this means no hotmail support....

i like the live wallpapers but think i will reformat and use 2.0.1 just for stability reasons, ive had about 20 resets since i installed last night.

im keen to follow the progress though and test

how do i flash back to loose the 2.1 launcher?? ive wiped the cards new files and tried to format/wipe and also MSU but cant get it back?

I'm really sorry you didnt find this mod useful I can honestly say I've not had a single reboot in all the time I've been running this. As for the missing stuff if you look into the folder within the download you will see a folder called system/app, in there are all the files you will end up with once you have run the mod. So if you need anything adding or taking out its all very simple.

However why not try my latest version Ive now gone back to the normal launcher and included the email client again Ive been running this for a day with zero problems. REMEMBER to wipe both system and cache before running the update.

excellent thanks! i have just put GDE on and can confirm the live wallpapers work too. I will install your new update, i really miss the built in email client. I have noticed after all the cache wipes and the factory wipes it seemed to reboot less.

just an update.. this has been running perfectly! no reboots, and perfect live walls. there is some interaction on the plasma ball one i have downloaded but not much from the standard ones.


if i wanted to get my phone back to 2.0.1 or even 2.0 how would i do this?? my copilot is crashing alot at the minute and im trying to see if its more stable on 2.0 or if anyting else might be causing it?

how to apply this update.The rar file has one folder which has the apk files and the update.zip..update.zip i guess contains the rooting update..pls help

Just flash this mod. Very good! My milestone is 2.0.1 HK stock rom.

I love the live wallpaper so much, but how can I enable the interactive background for your mod?

it seems to need launcher 2.1 for interaction to work, which is on his first file not the second one.
